As a key member of the Executive Leadership team and as the enterprise lead for Finance and Business Services, the Chief Financial Officer assumes a strategic role, responsible for increasing the effectiveness, efficiency and practices of this function and managing the Finance and Business Services team.
As CFO, you will provide financial analysis, strategic advice and guidance to the Executive Leadership Team and Board and be responsible for ensuring that financial reporting and compliance requirements are met and that financial risks are effectively managed.
With focus on Suncare's long-term financial sustainability you will ensure its functional deliverables are of the highest standard and in line with best practice accounting principles.
More about the role : Reporting to the CEO you will :
- Build a newly designed Finance and Business Services function.
- Contribute to the development and achievement of Suncare's strategy, and manage the development and implementation of the Finance and Business Services strategy and operational plan.
- Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with Suncare's strategic plan and lead the preparation and implementation of the annual budget and financial forecasts, monitor progress and present operational metrics.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and work practices to position Finance and Business Services to effectively support the organisation and ensure alignment and compliance with legislative and industry requirements.
- Provide regular reports, expert and informed analysis, and strategic financial advice and guidance to the CEO, Board of Directors, and Executive Leadership Team, to develop and manage the financial well-being of Suncare.
- Assume day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities and management and leadership of the Assets, Property, Procurement, Insurance and Fleet functions.
- Provide leadership to the Finance & Business Services team and build exceptional team capability, ensuring employees have the knowledge, skills and resources to deliver high-quality financial services and that support their growth and career progression.
What you will bring to our team : Key to your success in this role is a strong commercial acumen, the capacity to take an informed but balanced view to find solutions for sustainable growth, and an ability to lead the thinking, innovation and engagement of the Finance and Business Services team. You will also possess :
- Degree qualification in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Professional accounting membership (CA, CPA, CIMA or similar).
- Significant experience in senior financial management roles and experience in managing complex financial systems and controls, preferably in the aged care or health services sector.
- Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, analysis and the development and management of contracts, with a strong understanding of financial reporting and compliance requirements.
- Experience in asset and facility management, fleet management and insurance are desirable, though not essential.
- Proven ability to successfully work with other executives as a trusted finance business partner and establish effective relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge and experience in people management, including being a hands-on manager with integrity and strong leadership skills, who has a desire to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment and a commitment to supporting and developing team members.
