Tax Manager

Leesburg, VA | Frederick, MD | In office a must, Hybrid Option Available

Are you an experienced tax professional with a passion for helping businesses grow, developing staff, and building strong client relationships? DeLeon & Stang is looking for a Tax Manager to lead and expand our tax department while delivering top-tier consulting and compliance services.

What Youll Do :

  • Lead and grow the tax department by managing current business and driving new opportunities.
  • Develop trusted client relationships, providing strategic tax consulting and planning.
  • Supervise and mentor tax staff, enhancing their technical expertise and consulting abilities.
  • Review and manage the preparation of complex tax returns (individual, business, estate & trust).
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Analyze client needs, proactively proposing value-added solutions.
  • Oversee client engagements, managing budgets, deadlines, and expectations.
  • Expand business development efforts, building relationships to grow our client base.
  • Support firm initiatives and participate in leadership activities.

What You Bring :

  • CPA designation required
  • 5+ years of experience at a regional or public accounting firm.
  • Strong expertise in tax compliance, planning, and consulting.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements efficiently.
  • Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, and estates
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects efficiently
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

    • Estate & trust tax experience is a plus.

    Ability to drive business development and expand firm services.
