We are seeking an energetic, patient-centered Registered Nurse for our Women’s Medicine Unit at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus! Our brand new, 30-bed unit is located in the Inova Women’s Hospital, the only dedicated women’s hospital in Northern Virginia.

On this unit, you will see a variety of women’s general medicine patients. The Women’s Medicine Unit is a sister unit to our nationally recognized Women’s Surgical Specialty Unit.

Our usual nurse to patient ratio is four or five patients to one RN.

Patients on this unit include :

• General medicine
• Sickle Cell patients
• End of life
• Telemetry and continuous Pulse Oximetry monitoring
• Laparoscopic surgery
• Surgical overflow from the Women’s Surgical Specialty Unit

Sign-On / Relocation Bonus Information : This position is eligible for a competitive Sign-On Bonus. Candidates who are relocating 50 miles or further are also eligible for relocation assistance.

Schedule : Full-Time Days, 3x12 hour shifts per week- 7am-7pm

The Inova Registered Nurse :

Ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in life-long learning. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice.

Serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor. Demonstrates leadership skills in decision making and problem solving.

Required Experience : A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.

• Proficient computer skills required

Minimum Education Requirement :

Education : BSN from an accredited school of nursing.

If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

Minimum Licensure / Certification Requirement :

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start
• For Critical Care Units : Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months
• For Pediatric Units : Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months
• For Infusion Center Units : Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hire
