Job Description Summary

This leadership role, oversees and designs advanced experiments. Assist the principal investigator and play a leading role in developing a research program in the advancement of specific area of study and will play a crucial role both in all aspects of research products including development, implementation, and data analysis.

Assess proposed projects by conducting feasibility studies to provide valuable input regarding viability, efficiency, timeline, and study design.

In the implementation stage, this role will supervise and perform the project. This includes overseeing workflow and productivity of lab personnel and providing training to them on specific techniques as necessary.

Responsible for data analysis, preparation of manuscripts, and presenting research findings through various forums.

Job Description

The primary function of this Senior Research Investigator position is to lead and conduct advanced research in cancer genomics, with a specific focus on non-coding RNA in ovarian and breast cancers.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in cancer drug development, animal care, molecular and cellular biology, tissue culturing, RNA-seq / ChIP-seq, and bioinformatics analysis.

They should be capable of independently designing and executing high-level research projects in cancer genomics, as well as proficient in writing manuscripts and grant proposals.

This leadership role entails overseeing and designing advanced experiments, collaborating closely with the principal investigator to develop a research program dedicated to advancing specific areas of study.

The incumbent will be integral to all aspects of research projects, from development to implementation and data analysis.

Responsibilities include assessing project feasibility, supervising project implementation, providing training to lab personnel, conducting data analysis, preparing manuscripts, and presenting research findings across various platforms and forums.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis and other aspects of quantitative and qualitative research as well as theoretical research
  • Review, edit, format, and write manuscripts for publication and of grant proposals
  • Assist with and often direct the design and implementation of original surveys
  • Perform data collection and management
  • Administer literature reviews
  • Other research and administrative duties
  • Oversee laboratory operations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Philosophy, and 5 to 7 years of postdoctoral experience is required.
  • Ideal candidate will have expertise in cancer drug development, animal care, molecular and cellular biology, tissue culturing, RNA-seq / ChIP-seq, and bioinformatics analysis.
  • Must be proficient in writing manuscripts and grant proposals.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in collaboration with other program leaders.
  • Be prepared and capable to manage all aspects of research projects.
