Electrical Design Engineer - Core Electrical Job

Kenworth Truck Company is the manufacturer of The World’s Best® heavy and medium duty trucks. Kenworth is an industry leader in providing fuel-saving technology solutions that help increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.

The Kenworth Electrical Engineering Department is seeking motivated engineers to join our Core Electrical team.

Here's what you will do in this role :

  • Design, development and integration of electrical systems / architectures and electronic components for heavy-duty commercial trucks utilizing Creo Parametric and Mentor Graphics.
  • Design and document wire harness assemblies using the Siemens Mentor Graphics tool suite.
  • Coordinate aspects of small to large engineering projects following company Product Creation Process (PCP) methodology and Design for Six Sigma tools to quality standards (including SAE and ISO).
  • Use of Windchill and PCMS for product data control from inception through engineering design, manufacturing, service and disposal.
  • Create engineering documentation including component drawings, diagrams, and change documentation.
  • Test coordination, manufacturing support, and customer technical support.

Skills & Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering or Computer Science required.
  • Willingness to grow personally and professionally, ready to learn and make use of engineering processes and techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, lean, collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team to achieve timely objectives.
  • Commitment to reliability, value, and quality in all aspects of work; desire to join the World’s Best team.
  • Experience with the Siemens Capital electrical system toolsets preferred.
  • Experience with 3D CAD, especially PTC’s Creo preferred.
  • Travel up to 10% possible as conditions allow.

Education

A Bachelor's Degree is required.

The salary range for Electrical Design Engineer-Core Electrical is $72,300-$108,000 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
