Job Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant 1, Pediatric Critical Care Unit.
the successful candidate will :
- Be responsible for providing patient care to children admitted to the Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PICU), NS43.
- Perform admission history and physical exam on all patients.
- Follow all assigned patients in the PICU and recognize both gross and subtle clinical changes.
- Choose appropriate tests and procedures (L.P., starting IV, blood drawing, etc.).
- Maintain currency and closure of medical records.
- Provide patient care duties, as assigned.
- Perform operational duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- New York State Physician Assistant Licensure.
- Physician Assistant Certificate.
- 1+ year of experience caring for hospitalized patients.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
