Job Title : Tooling Engineer

Location : Lake Villa, IL

Salary : $90,000-120,000+Bonus

LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Tooling Engineer to join our client's organization in the Lake Villa, IL area.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design and optimize tooling for forming, stamping, and machining metal parts
  • Collaborate with production teams to assess and improve tooling performance
  • Select materials and fabrication techniques based on product and volume needs
  • Coordinate with suppliers for sourcing and testing tooling components
  • Conduct root cause analysis on tooling failures and implement corrective actions
  • Support new product development through feasibility studies and prototyping
  • Ensure tooling meets safety, compliance, and quality standards
  • Maintain documentation including CAD files and revision histories

Key Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field)
  • 3+ years of experience in tooling design, preferably in metal-forming or cookware
  • Proficiency in CAD software
  • Strong knowledge of aluminum alloys and press tooling
  • Experience with quality systems and manufacturing documentation
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
