Title : Supporting Library Specialist - (Part-Time, 30 hours)

Location : Various Arapahoe Library District locations located in Arapahoe County, as needed.

Reports to : Supervisor, Supporting Library Specialist

FLSA Status : Non - Exempt

This position requires open availability Mon-Thur. 9am-9pm, Fri-Sat. 9am-5pm, Sunday 12-5pm

Pay Rate : $19.76 - $23.22

Purpose : Welcome and assist patrons in the use of the library by delivering outstanding, inclusive service by keeping current on internal communications and library offerings to connect patrons with the appropriate resources in eight library locations, bookmobile and call center. Help ensure continuity of outstanding library service by filling staffing gaps at Arapahoe Libraries library locations and call center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

80% PATRON ASSISTANCE AND MATERIALS HANDLING

General patron assistance :

• Greets all library visitors and provides proactive assistance.
• Assists patrons with library account inquiries, including cash register transactions.
• Provides advisory services to patrons and assists with basic reference questions.
• Connects patrons with other library staff as needed.
• Promotes and supports library resources, programs and events.
• Listens to patron feedback and shares through appropriate channels.
• Sets expectations for library use, de-escalates and resolves patron concerns.
• Straightens and cleans up the library to provide a welcoming experience.
• Ability to do the above tasks over the phone when working in the call center.
• Answers patron chats through the Arapahoe Libraries website.

Technology assistance :

20% LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

Performs other related duties and may contribute to cross-functional initiatives and projects as assigned and requested.
