Job Description

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) caregiver at Dungarvin, you’ll play a vital role in empowering individuals with mental, intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible.

Your compassionate support and hands-on assistance will help maintain their dignity, respect, and quality of life.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Provide Direct Care : Travel between three different homes to offer essential support, ensuring the safety, comfort, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
  • Foster Independence : Encourage self-care and independence through mentoring, guidance, and personalized care.
  • Assist with Daily Living : Help individuals with daily tasks such as moving, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene, ensuring their needs are met with dignity.
  • Maintain a Safe Environment : Implement positive behavior supports and assist with mobility and transfers, sometimes using mechanical lift devices.
  • Support Community Integration : Participate in community activities and outings, enriching the lives of those you care for.
  • Household Assistance : Prepare meals, and snacks, and perform light household duties to create a comfortable and nurturing environment.
  • Adapt to Various Needs : Provide flexible staffing coverage, fill-in support for staff during paid time off, and fill in on open or temporary positions.

Qualifications

Hiring Immediately : Float Level 1 & Level 2 Positions

Float Level 1 : will be scheduled for 4 days during the weekdays and every other weekend, with shifts between 6am-10pm. You must be available to work any shift (day or evening) within these hours, Monday through Friday, and every other weekend.

Float Level 2 : will be scheduled for 4 weekdays and every other weekend, with shifts between 3pm-9am. You must be available to work any shift (evening or overnight) during these hours, Monday through Friday, and every other weekend.

What Makes You A Great Fit :

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
  • Willing to travel to three homes within the Portland metro area (mileage reimbursed)
  • Prior caregiving experience is preferred
  • Quick to learn medical and behavioral supports, while being person-centered, patient, and kind
  • Committed to creating a respectful and collaborative environment while being a positive role model and effective team player.
  • Able to follow instructions and proficient in using computers for documentation.
  • Flexible, dependable, and adaptable with strong communication, listening, and decision-making skills.

Must meet all Oregon State Department of Human Services requirements
