Responsibilities
Our ideal candidate possesses over 2 years of experience in family law and is knowledgeable about Minnesota procedures. The candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Preparing motions, affidavits, legal arguments, testimony, and trial briefs
- Conducting thorough preparations for hearings
- Consulting with clients to strategize on cases
- Communicating with opposing parties, courts, and relevant stakeholders
- Conducting comprehensive legal research to identify and apply pertinent case law, statutes, and judicial decisions
- Investigating the facts surrounding cases
- Reviewing and staying updated on new laws and regulations
- Drafting substantive correspondence
- Reviewing and approving documents prepared by paralegals
Qualifications
- 2+ years' experience in family law
- Admitted to Minnesota Bar
- Expresses sensitivity to others - can make clients feel comfortable sharing personal information relating to their cases
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Open-minded and willing to learn
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Can quickly adapt to changing deadlines
- Ability to manage many cases at one time
- Technologically savvy
- Extensive use of Microsoft Office products
