THE WORK :
The Systems Engineer - IT will be responsible for the following :
- System administration of heterogeneous networks including Windows Desktop environments, Windows Server based domains, and Linux based systems
- Red Hat Linux server deployment configuration
- Manage operating system cyber compliance, upgrades, and patching (Windows / Linux)
- Perform guidance and management for hardware, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance on multiple architectures
- Ensure the integrity and availability of applications as well as coordinate new application installations, upgrades, and customer support
- Responsible for implementing effective backup / recovery, resource accounting, and auditing procedures
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on varied IT hardware (Servers, Network equipment, storage arrays, PCs, etc.)
- Gathers system security design requirements with stakeholders and develops architecture
- Implements security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures
- Installing / configuring / managing / updating various versions of software operating systems
- Lab equipment and cyber compliance management
- Documenting procedures and processes to ensure repeatability and data sharing

This position requires a candidate who is a U.S. Citizen and holds an Interim Secret security clearance to start. The role is located at a facility that requires special access.
A level 3 employee is typically mid-career and has 3 to 5+ years of professional experience.
Note : This role will require domestic and international travel (up to 30%). Candidates will be asked to obtain a DoD IAT Level II certification within 3 months of their start date, if they do not already have a certification.

Desired skills
- DoD IAT Level II certification (i.e. Sec+ CE)
- Experience working in Training Logistics Systems,
preferably in a lab environment
Experience in shell scripting to schedule and
automate processes
Experience working with VMWare / ESXi, VSphere,
and Hyper-V for automated configuration / updates
- Experience with Ansible tools
- Experience with Excel, Agile, Atlassian tool suite
JIRA / Confluence) and IBM Engineering Lifecycle
Management (ELM).
- Knowledgeable in information systems networking
