Position Overview
The Network Administrator is primarily a Tier 2 support role with some expanded opportunities and responsibilities. The position is responsible for helpdesk calls / emails / texts and assists in other areas within the IT Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate in the troubleshooting and resolution of client system issues and network outages.
- Provide support in a timely and accurate manner through in-person, phone, or email interactions, ensuring effective end-user support as needed.
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot a range of network hardware, peripheral devices, printing / scanning devices, presentation equipment, and software to meet required service levels.
Continuously develop skills and knowledge in these areas.
- Set up and maintain Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) switches, phones, and related applications.
- Document desktop infrastructure, specialized applications, and equipment setups.
- Support server maintenance including troubleshooting, applying patches, deploying updates, and resolving related issues.
- Oversee backup operations according to schedule and perform tests and restorations to ensure system and data integrity.
- Contribute to the documentation of systems, modifications, and related issues.
- Educate and support end-users, and coordinate hardware repair services for printers, phones, and other devices.
- Manage user accounts including creation, deletion, and overall user account administration.
- Maintain comprehensive records for each incident and adhere to the incident response plan.
- Execute additional duties as required.
Requirements :
Required / Preferred Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Possess or be in the process of obtaining relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ (220-601 & 220-602), with an associate degree in a related field or active enrollment in such a program preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience are also acceptable.
- Desirable certifications include Network+ and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).
- Availability for after-hours work as needed for projects and business demands.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet reasonable deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A robust service-oriented mindset towards all internal and external customers.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
Work is performed in a standard office environment with frequent local travel. Requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary;
may regularly require the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and occasionally lift 80+ lbs. with assistance.
