Overview

CPS Technologies Corp. is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Facility Engineer. In this newly created role, which reports to the Facilities Engineering Manager, the Facility Engineer will be responsible for project management, troubleshooting, design, and task execution in support of manufacturing operations. The Facility Engineer will collaborate closely with Operations leadership, manufacturing supervisors, maintenance personnel, contractors, and the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to plan, design, and execute facility improvements, equipment installations, and modifications to existing layouts. The Facility Engineer will also support budgeting and procurement of resources and equipment, while providing engineering services focused on process stability and improving the capacity and capability of manufacturing equipment. This is a hands-on role, requiring direct involvement in facilities maintenance and project execution. Upkeep and operation of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is a critical part of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot facility-related issues and lead corrective actions.
  • Plan, design, and manage facility and equipment projects.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor on budgets and procurement.
  • Support predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Operate and maintain the CMMS system.
  • Provide hands-on support as needed to ensure maintenance and project progress.
  • Ensure a safe and environmentally sound operating environment. Lead relevant projects, as needed.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in facilities engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to handle multi-dimensional challenges.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Experience with machining and welding processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe rigging and hoisting practices.
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and plumbing system design / installation.
  • Understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Demonstrated project management and strong communication skills.
  • Physical Demands

  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Climbing ladders, walking, and using mechanical / optical measuring tools.
  • Use of hand and power tools.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Minimal local travel may be required for material procurement.
