Our Joint Commission Accredited facility is now expanding to offer comprehensive mental health services, maintaining our commitment to evidence-based, holistic care.

Job Summary : The Psychiatric Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive mental health care to patients within a psychiatric setting.
This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with psychiatric disorders, emotional difficulties, and other mental health issues.
The nurse works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at promoting mental wellness and recovery.
Key Responsibilities :
Patient Assessment and Care :
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations, risk assessments, and medical history reviews.
- Monitor and record patients' progress, symptoms, and responses to treatments.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the attending physician or psychiatrist.
- Provide care for patients experiencing acute mental health crises.
Treatment Planning and Implementation :
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions as appropriate.
Crisis Intervention :
- Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage agitated or aggressive behavior.
- Coordinate with emergency services when necessary.
Documentation and Reporting :
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Document patient interactions, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge plans
Qualifications :
Education / Licensure / Certification :
- Diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN) from an accredited nursing program. (required)
- Licensure within good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of MA (required)
Experience :
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting (preferred).
