DESCRIPTION

Global Road Safety's mission is to lead the world's safest transportation network, protecting the lives of people on road everywhere.

Global Road Safety (GRS) covers all miles and all business units in all countries (22 total) where Amazon conducts on-road operations.

GRS is structured into a hybrid field and corporate organization, with six key pillars (Incident Investigations, Risk, Assurance, Standards / Policies, Tech and Services).

GRS is also, associated with the Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) horizon vision to be the global benchmark for safety excellence across all like industries, utilizing the six horizon pillars (Data Intelligence, Safety Design, Ergonomic Improvements, Technology, Risk Reduction, and People & Perception).

Key job responsibilities

  • Coordinate and craft Global Road Safety documents. Including but, not limited to monthly business reviews, VP level WBRs and serious incident / injury report outs.
  • Monitor and understand key GRS safety metrics.
  • Be the gate keeper for change management requests that involve transportation processes.
  • Present documents and information to director and VP level leaders.
  • Identify injury / incident trends. Collaborate with team members to create and action high impact projects based on those identified trends.
  • PM high impact projects by working with other GRS pillar team members.
  • Craft safety awareness products that provide instruction, guidance and clarity to our on-road partner teams.

About the team

GRS Services was created in 2023. Our goal is to support internal GRS, as well as our external customers. Within GRS Services there are two main teams : 1.

Internal GRS Partners (IGPs) 2. Transporter Safety Partners (TSPs). IGPs own project management, events, platforms, internal GRS meetings and organizational education / development.

TSPs are separated into two sub teams : 1. Global Delivery Team 2. Safety Awareness Team. The Global Delivery Team owns king pin goals, global documents, global trend-based projects and change management.

The Safety Awareness team is responsible to create safety awareness products (comms / content) for our partners across the globe.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience leading risk assessments
  • 3-5 years in a transportation, middle / last mile operations management, safety, audit, or risk position.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills
  • Risk assessment methodology experience that includes an understanding and practical knowledge of risk analysis, risk mitigation, risk management, risk matrix and development of risk criteria.
  • Experience providing the necessary countermeasures to risk identified in risk assessments
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience successfully managing complex and competing projects
  • Experience working in a highly cross-functional organization
  • Comfort with transitioning from high level strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution
  • Bachelor's Degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
  • Experience defining risk management roadmaps / Safety Management Systems
  • Proficiency with SQL
  • Systems thinking; able to recognize patterns and trends in data, content and customer needs which will drive program design and delivery
  • Experience using exceptional judgment in managing projects with high potential impact
  • Have experience in generating automated metrics
  • Preferred to possess or be working towards a certification related to safety, audit, or risk
  • NEBOSH / CSP Certification, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000 / year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
