About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Emergency Department (ED) Nursing Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM (Every Other Weekend + 4th Shift per month) Guaranteed Hours : 34.
50 Hours Experience : Minimum 2 years Emergency Medicine experience (adults and / or pediatrics); Travel experience preferred License : NYS RN License Certifications : Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), NIHSS Certification Must-Have : Expertise in Emergency Department Nursing Job Description : Deliver patient care by incorporating the principles of relationship-centered care and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs with critical thinking skills in patient care management.- Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in plan of care development, implementation, and evaluation.- Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including education, rounding, coaching, planning for after hospital care, and delegating tasks appropriately.
- Educate patients and caregivers on their plan of care, health promotion, and disease prevention, considering their needs and readiness to learn.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Uphold the principles of relationship-centered care, engaging in key actions like Admission Welcome and Bedside Shift Report.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families, considering their values, preferences, and cultural diversity.
- Use evidence-based practices to enhance understanding of patients' perceptions of care.- Address patient and family concerns, escalating issues as needed.
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, active listening, and respect in all interactions.- Practice safe, efficient patient-centered care, identifying improvement opportunities for quality and safety.
- Implement process improvement strategies and collaborate on quality improvement projects.- Contribute to quality and safety practices, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Utilize technology to document nursing practice, supporting quality and performance improvement initiatives.- Perform charge nurse duties and coordinate with nurse managers to ensure supply and resource availability.
- Facilitate patient throughput and document accurately in compliance with standards of care.- Contribute to the care environment, supporting clinical colleagues and participating in shared decision-making.
- Advance clinical competence and incorporate ethical principles into decision-making.- Encourage a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, life-long learning, and innovation.
