Your New Role

Reporting to the Chief Communications & Public Affairs Officer of Warner Bros. Discovery, the SVP, Internal Communications will spearhead the company’s internal communications strategy.

Alongsde the broader Corporate Communications group, this role will work in lock step with the Employee Engagement and People & Culture teams to shape and influence internal programs and enhance the employee experience globally, supporting the overall corporate narrative and WBD’s diverse global business segments, encompassing Warner Bros.

Motion Picture Group, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, Warner Bros. Television Group, U.S. Networks, HBO, Max, discovery+, CNN, and Eurosport.

As a key leader within the Corporate Communications team, the SVP will serve as bring a strategic vision to build and lead a world-class internal communications team, recognizing the significant impact of this function within a global organization.

They will work with senior leadership, including the CCO and CEO, to manage and enhance the company's internal narrative and vision.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Shape and activate a comprehensive internal communications strategy that aligns with the company’s corporate narrative, strengthens WBD’s industry leadership, and supports the company’s strategic business goals
  • Lead a team of seasoned communications leaders to develop and execute communication campaigns that engage, inform, and align employees with WBD’s People & Culture (P&C) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies, programs and initiatives
  • Foster a strategic and successful team and enable the group to create and implement communication strategies that effectively engage and resonate across an array of audiences
  • Partner closely with senior leaders cross-functionally to develop a deep understanding of their priorities and implement compelling campaigns in support of their individual business objectives
  • Ensure the internal communciations team is a key piece of the organization’s genetic makeup, keeping a finger on the pulse of employee sentiment and engagement and supporting the group’s ability to develop proactive internal strategies
  • Oversee creative and comprehensive workflows, platforms and systems which enable the team to execute compelling internal communications programs including engaging internal events cross-company moments, consistent and effective global updates / talking points and intentional touchpoints with key stakeholders across the business
  • Develop consistent and aligned messaging which reinforces and bolsters internal culture and shapes external perception
  • Proactively seek out opportunities to shape Warner Bros. Discovery’s culture and foster engagement by weaving WBD’s Guiding Principles and corporate narrative into communication plans

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate has at least 10 years of communications / public relations experience working at a senior level in a major corporation, talent agency or a public relations firm with experience managing the development and implementation of integrated strategic communications plans for large, complex, and global organizations.

Preference for candidates with track records in either news, media, entertainment or politics.

An undergraduate degree, preferably in marketing or communications, is required; MBA or other graduate degree is a plus.
