About The Position

Job Title : Operating Room Registered Nurse

Profession : RN (Registered Nurse)

Specialty : Operating Room

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Days; weekend and holiday on-call in rotation

Hours per Shift : 8, 10 hours

Experience : Minimum 3 years

License : Active RN license required

Certifications : BLS required

Must-Have :

Must have 3 years of experience in either Ortho / Neuro or General / Robotics.

Experience with Open bellies, GYN, Davinci Xi for general surgery, and Endo preferred.

Willingness to float to cross-train in other specialty cases is required.

Description :

This position requires proficiency in either Ortho / Neuro or General / Robotics.

The department has a family atmosphere with a supportive staff.

There are 12 operating rooms, 1 endoscopy suite, and 1 cystoscopy suite.

An average of 25-30 cases is performed each day.

Common procedures include general surgeries, robotic surgeries, pediatric and geriatric surgeries, cystoscopies, and open abdominal surgeries.

Experience with ION robotic cases and Stryker towers is beneficial but refresher training is available.

Scrubbing is not required for RNs in this role.

There is a charge nurse on each shift to provide support.

Emergency response time for calls is 15 minutes.

A sleep room is available for post-call reprieve, and housing nearby is suggested for call needs.

RNs are also expected to assist as a 1 : 1 sitter or in other support roles as needed.

Additional hours for 1 : 1 sitting can be picked up to help with low case volumes.

All required scrubs and dress code will be provided.
