Summary :
We areseeking a Scientist (Role Level P1 / Grade 12) for our Life Sciencesteam. The incumbent will report to a Life Sciences Senior ResearchManager in Corporate Research Organization to conduct fundamentalresearch in skin biology in our BSL2 lab.
The successful candidatewill have a drive for results and attention to detail with theability to carry out lab experiments with minimal supervisiondocument results and communicate effectively.
Collaboration in ateam environment is essential. The candidate will take workdirection from the project leader.
Must have :
1.Bachelors or MS Degree in Microbiology or related field with labexperience
2. Expertise in culturingpropagating enumerating and analyzing microorganisms includingfungi bacteria and / or viruses. Ability to prepare media and supportlaboratory management.
Responsibilities :
- Participate in lab and experiment planning to safely andefficiently carry out required experiments to advance skin researchwork.
- Follow written experimental andequipment operation procedures with high attention to detail andability to perform tasks independently.
- Employeffective written and oral communication to document findings andreport promptly to appropriate team members.
- Always maintain safety and contribute to the safe andefficient functioning of the laboratory. Maintain a clean andorganized laboratory.
- Collaborateeffectively in BSL2 lab to drive skin healthresearch.
Required Qualifications :
- B.S. in one of the biological sciences withlaboratory expertise in cellular biology and / or microbiology andbiomedical engineering.
- Experienceworking in a BSL2 lab and culturing primary cells and / or tissueexplants including media development.
- Experience conducting cellbased assays cytokinequantification ELISA qRTPCR.
- Fluentin efficiently executing laboratory protocols with a high attentionto detail
- Evidence of quickly learningbiological assays / methods assisting with protocol standardizationand performing robust data analysis to deliver results.
- Able to maintain a safe work environmentappropriate for a biological laboratory(BSL2).
- Excellent communicationskills with ability to influence projects and partner directionthru oral and written means.
- Working knowledgeof appropriate computer software such as Windows suite especiallyExcel for data recording and graphing.
- Provenrecord of successful results working in multidisciplinarycrossfunctional teams
