BC forward is currently seeking a highly motivated Graphic Designer 3 for an opportunity in Redmond, WA

Position Title : Graphic Designer 3

Location : Fully Remote

Anticipated Start Date : - ASAP

Expected Duration : 6 Months Contract

Job Type : Contract and Remote

Pay Range : $45 / hr. - $50 / hr.

Requirements :

Typical Day in the Role

• Purpose of the Team : The purpose of this team is to create Microsoft templates
• Key projects : This role will contribute to producing Microsoft Designer templates.
• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm : The role will require the designer to use their background in graphic design in combination with generative AI technologies to create, review, and edit Designer templates.

A portfolio showcasing high quality graphic design work (note : not UX / UI) is required. Examples should show an understanding of style, composition, and typography.

Familiarity with and examples of text to image AI technology use should be provided (can be sent separately if not available in portfolio).

Candidates should be highly organized and detailed oriented while able to work with high volumes and scale. Microsoft sponsor is also looking for someone who is proactive with communication as this job will be mostly heads down.

• Years of Experience Required : 3+ overall years of experience in the field.
• Degrees or certifications required : Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Visual Arts, or a related field is required to be eligible for this role.
• Disqualifiers : Candidates who do not have a portfolio demonstrating graphic design skills.
• Best vs. Average : The ideal candidate has examples of strong style, composition, and typographic work while being excited to move into work involving AI technologies.
• Performance Indicators : Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines, over time gaining ownership and able to work independently.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

• Minimum 3+ years' experience with Graphic design.
• Minimum 3+years' experience with high volume creative work.
• Some familiarity and work with text to image AI technology.

Hard Skills Assessments

• Expected Dates that Hard Skills Assessments will be scheduled : ASAP.
• Hard Skills Assessment Process : The assessment process will include one 30 min call with the Microsoft sponsor where candidate will showcase their portfolio and talk about their experience with work relevant to the role.
• Required Candidate Preparation : Candidates should have a portfolio prepared prior to the assessment along with examples of text to image AI work (can be 1-3 examples).

Key Responsibilities :

• Utilize design principles to assess and make decisions on design quality of prompt visual outputs.
• Review and edit design prompts, ensuring clarity.
• Have a user empathy lens to create functional and visually appealing content.
• Manage a high volume of work efficiently, maintaining quality while focusing on scale.
• Quickly adapt to changes and learn new tools and techniques in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with other team members and design lead to integrate design feedback and improve outputs.
• Embrace a growth mindset, actively seeking feedback and striving for continuous improvement.

Qualifications :

• 3+ years of relevant design experience.
• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
• Figma, Adobe Creative Tools, PowerPoint.
• Proven experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in style, typography, and composition layout.
• Familiarity with and examples of text to image AI technology use (can be sent separately if not in portfolio)
• Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and pivot as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
• Comfortable with receiving and implementing constructive feedback.

Preferred :

Experience with copy writing or editing for clarity and grammar
