Job Overview
The Fellowships Advisor supports the management and administration of programs housed within the , as directed by the Director of the Center.
They are primarily responsible for serving as an assistant advisor to the Director on the UK Fellowships, including the Rhodes, Marshall, and Mitchell Scholarships.
Duties include but are not limited to assisting the director in developing the university 25-30 nominees for nationally-competitive fellowships by :
- facilitating weekly writing workshops for nominees
- advising students on their academic & career trajectories (in relation to their candidacies)
- reviewing and providing feedback on recommendation letters (by faculty request)
- organizing and facilitating mock interviews
- supporting director in ghosting writing institutional nomination letters
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
Reporting to the Director of the Center for Research and Fellowships, the Fellowships Advisor also with a number of Georgetown University stakeholders - ranging from faculty, with whom we work closely on managing selection committees and utilize as mock interviewers - to senior-level administrators, department heads, academic deans, and directors of undergraduate studies across the University.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree - for a Master’s or advanced graduate training.
- 2 years of experience in higher education administration, student advising, or teaching
Preferred Qualification
Experience and / or a working knowledge of Georgetown University
Pay Range :
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is :
$20.16 - $31.30
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
