Primary Care Physician Veterans Care Canandaigua VA Outpatient Clinic

Location : Canandaigua, NY

Assignment Type : Locum Tenens Outpatient Primary Care

Compensation : $130 / hour + Travel & Lodging Covered

Period of Performance : ASAP through at least April 2026 About the Opportunity

The Canandaigua VA Outpatient Clinic is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to our nation s Veterans. This assignment offers consistent hours, a manageable workload, and the opportunity to serve those who served our country. Role Highlights

  • Outpatient-only schedule : Monday Friday, 8 : 00 AM 4 : 30 PM (no weekends or federal holidays)
  • Average patient volume : patients per day
  • Veteran population with chronic and acute primary care needs
  • Travel, lodging, and malpractice provided
  • Long-term coverage through April 2026

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine exams, preventive screenings, and follow-up visits
  • Manage chronic conditions (diabetes, hypertension, COPD, CHF, etc.)
  • Document all care in VA s CPRS system
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care teams using the PACT model
  • Provide patient education, treatment, referral, and follow-up

    • Qualifications

  • MD or DO, Board Certified / Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
  • Active license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Current DEA registration & BLS / ACLS certification
  • Must pass VA credentialing & background clearance
