The first question we'll ask you is When are you available to work? We know it's important to be able to plan the other activities in your life, so we set schedules a month in advance.
We will provide you with the training and information necessary for each of your shifts. Shifts start at $12.00 an hour and range from 3 to 12 hours we will work around your schedule!
Position Summary :
The home care attendant fulfills a vital role in providing our clients with a sense of safety and security while staying in their homes or residences.
This position ensures the delivery and safety of quality non-medical care which reflects the agency's mission to support and assist clients and families so that they are able to stay in their familiar comfortable surroundings.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education / Experience :
- High School diploma or equivalent GED
- CNA and / or HHA certification preferred
- Experience in home care or related field preferred
Physical :
- Able to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
- Able to read, talk, listen and speak clearly
Essential Functions :
Delivers safe quality care in accordance with the mission and values of the organization. This includes caring for all customers (client, families, co-workers) and their property with dignity and respect.
In accordance with a flexible service plan the attendant will provide :
- Companionship and conversational engagement with client
- Assistance in transferring between bed, wheelchair or motor vehicles
- Assistance with bathing and personal hygiene
- Assistance with toileting and incontinence issues
- Assistance with dressing and grooming
- Assistance with meal preparation, consumption, and meal clean up
- Light housekeeping and cleanup to maintain clean healthy surroundings
- Medication reminders including opening of non-controlled substance medications such as eye drops, herbs, supplements and over-the-counter medications
- Safe infection control practices including proper hand-washing and waste disposal
- Maintain confidentiality of client information at all times
- Completion of time slips and other administrative paperwork in a timely manner as per agency policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned and needed.
