Position Overview :

Schoolhouse Staffing is seeking a compassionate and skilled Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) and / or Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist to support a kindergarten students in Burnsville, North Carolina for the 20252026 school year.

Ideally, we are looking for a professional who can fill both roles (TVI and O&M), though we are open to candidates who specialize in one. This is a fully in-person position due to the students age and developmental needs, and services will take place within a school setting.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on a student who began receiving vision services in March 2025 and is continuing to build foundational mobility and learning skills.

Key Responsibilities :

As TVI :

• Provide individualized instruction based on the Expanded Core Curriculum for students with visual impairments
• Adapt general education materials and collaborate with classroom teachers
• Monitor and document progress toward IEP goals
• Support the use of assistive technology and low-vision tools
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with school staff and families
