Summary
Reportingto the Director, Supply Chain. TheLogistics Transportation Manager oversees the transportation and delivery ofgoods and materials for IMCD Canada.
This role involves planning, coordinating,and managing logistics operations to ensure efficient and cost-effectivedelivery.
The manager will work closely with other departments, carriers, TMSprovider, customs broker, and customers to ensure timely and accurate deliveryof goods.
Successful candidates will have a proven track record of informationseeking, analytical skills, sound decision making, and solution-orientation.
The right candidate will collaborate across functions to proactively addressand resolve operational issues affecting the timely delivery of product.
Thiscandidate understands the core business processes and systems needed toefficiently achieve results. This person suggests new ways of solving problemsand overcoming obstacles;
defines problems and takes the time to collect andanalyze data before proposing actions against them. Further, this individualaddresses customer needs in an effective, timely and creative way.

Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the transportation department, including daily coordination with suppliers, customers and warehouses to ensure smooth logistics operations.
Coach and mentour the transportation team in developing solutions to meet internal and external customer needs.
Negotiate carrier rates with common carriers to mitigate inflation and implement cost saving projects.
Ensure carrier execution against both inbound and outbound transportation requirements.
Develop and implement supply chain models for improvement of logistics and transportation network.
Identify opportunity lanes for improved service, capacity and / or rates with external carriers.
Develop and implement strategies for on-time delivery performance for dedicated carriers and common carriers.
Ensure accurate freight agreements for efficient processing of carrier invoicing and freight cost accounting.
Guarantee proper documentation and tracking of all shipments.
Handle any issues or discrepancies related to shipments and deliveries.
Develop contingency plans to manage disruptions in the supply chain.
Facilitates and attends quarterly business reviews with the 4PL and other key transportation providers to foster long-term partnerships.
Develop expert knowledge of Transportation Management System (TMS) and train users on system functionality.
Lead transportation team to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
Responsible for key performance indicators, contributing to EBITDA, Working Capital, and OTIF results through employee performance.
Optimize logistics processes through continuous analysis and improvement of transportation routes and delivery schedules.
Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Operations and Prinicpal Management to remove barriers to customer satisfaction and improve on time delivery.
Train and coach new and existing employees in standard policies, procedures, and best practices.
Ensure compliance with all transportation laws, regulations and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and safety standards are met.
Implement safety protocols and procedures for transportation activities.
Investigate and resolve Non-conformances with Corrective Action in accordance with the IMCD NCR processes.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in logistics and transportation.
Other duties as required.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and thehours of work and days are Monday through Friday from 8 . to 4 ., unlessotherwise directed by the Director, Supply Chain.
Travel
Some travel may be expected within Canadaand / or The US.
Education andExperience
Post Secondary and / or a professional designation such as CCLP (CITT) preferred.
5+ years transportation experience in a leadership capacity
University degree or College diploma with specialized training in the related field
Experience working in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
Technical skills (MS Office including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
