GENERAL SUMMARY :
Under minimal supervision provides care, maintenance, assembly and operation of electronic physiological pressure monitoring equipment in the operating room, intra-aortic balloon pumping systems, autologous blood salvaging systems and other related systems.
Provides laboratory test in the operating room for open-heart patients. Provides maintenance and cleaning of equipment for perfusion services.
Performs other related duties as required.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
- Associates Degree preferred.
- Completion of Intra Aorta Balloon Pump (IABP) certification program and / or minimum of one year previous IAPB experience.
- Analytical ability required in order to set-up, calibrate, operate, and maintain various equipment.
- Manual dexterity required to work with finely detailed circuitry components and systems.
- Visual / hearing / verbal abilities required in order to operate equipment and assist during surgical procedures.
