The Research Assistant is responsible for gathering accurate, credible data on every research participant and summarizing their findings to support senior team members' research.

The duties include browsing archives for information, completing literature reviews and conducting research interviews. Specifically, to coordinate and conduct all data collection and participant communication in a unique national registry for individuals and couples who choose to transfer a non-euploid blastocyst.

Although the Research Institute is based in Houston, this can be a 100% remote job.

The research assistant needs to maintain quality control standards to preserve the integrity of data and the findings, needs to have analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to stay calm under pressure, time-management skills, an ability to empathize with others, and the willingness to commit to lengthy complex projects.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Daily monitoring of company-wide data base to determine all eligible patients
  • Initiation of contact with eligible patients, including scheduling and conducting interviews as indicated, potentially obtaining informed consent
  • Maintain data base on all relevant aspects of participant electronic medical records (EMR) as well as individually collected data
  • Be responsible for collection of information not only from participants but also patient obstetrical history and pediatric developmental data
  • Write reports to summarize data and the implication of results
  • Attendance (remote) for all weekly research meetings
  • Conduct relevant literature reviews and create outlines for manuscripts
  • Assist with manuscript, abstract, and Powerpoint presentations
  • Schedule flexibility as some patients may only be able to be contacted in the evenings
  • Other duties as required

Education :

  • BA or BS required
  • Prior human subject research experience required either in school or previous employment
  • Prior direct research participant experience required either in school or previous employment
  • Knowledge of basic genetics required
  • Experience with basic genetic counseling preferred
