Salary range :
The base pay range for this position is $108,800 - $197,600. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.

Position description
Faculty Positions in the Division of Rheumatology, Autoimmunity, & Inflammation : The Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego is actively recruiting division faculty.
The selected candidates will be responsible for participating in scholarly activity, teaching medical and graduate students, and providing service to the University and academic community.
Candidates with a MD or equivalent are expected to maintain professional competence by attending in outpatient adult clinics and participating in consult services.
Non-clinician candidates are expected to maintain external funding and high productivity of publications in the peer-reviewed literature.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.
As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware of limitations on outside professional activities.
Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application) :
Candidates must have a MD or equivalent, or PhD in health-related fields. Candidates with a MD or equivalent with clinical duties must be Board eligible or Board certified in Rheumatology and must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification / permit.
