Your Role as a Physical Therapy Assistant

Key Responsibilities

As a Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA, LPTA), you will :

  • Follow all state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care, adhering to the treatment plan set by the supervising PT.
  • Instruct and assist patients with active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait training, and activities of daily living (ADL).
  • Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment, coordinating care with the healthcare team as needed.
  • Educate patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members about therapy within your scope of practice.

    • License Requirements

    To be considered for this role, you must have :

  • A current license, registration, or certification to assist in the practice of physical therapy in your state.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • A valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation or public transit.
