St. Edward's University, a nationally ranked, independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track position as a Specialized Faculty- Clinical Assistant Professor-Clinic Director in the Department of Counseling, beginning August 2026. St. Edward's is characterized by its commitment to the Holy Cross educational mission to educate the hearts and minds of a diverse student body deeply committed to social justice.

The successful candidate will serve as a core faculty member, directing the on-campus training clinic, supervising students, and teaching courses in the Masters in Counseling (MAC) program. The MAC program comprises two CACREP-accredited specializations - clinical mental health counseling (CMHC) and marriage, couples, and family counseling (MCFC). The St. Edward's University Community Counseling Clinic was established to provide clinical opportunities for students in the Master's in Counseling program. The training clinic is a fully functioning counseling center where students receive video and live supervision while providing counseling services to meet the community's mental health needs. This position is a 12-month full-time position with course reassignments equivalent to a full-time teaching load.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications :

  • An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in counselor education and supervision from a CACREP-accredited program.
  • University teaching experience in counseling.
  • Licensed or eligible for LPC and / or LMFT in Texas.
  • Experience in clinical supervision.
  • Show evidence of sustained professional engagement through (a) professional development and renewal activities related to counseling, (b) professional service and advocacy in counseling, and / or ongoing counseling practice.
  • Demonstrated commitment to enhancing diversity in academia and social justice, fostering the university's global initiative, and supporting strategic priorities.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in university training clinic / lab coordination.
  • Knowledge of CACREP-accredited counseling programs.
  • Experience with technology and software platforms for facilitating digital clinical records, supervision, and field management (i.e., Tevera, TherapyNotes, VALT)
  • Bilingual in Spanish, with experience working with Spanish-speaking clients and communities.
  • Background in developing, submitting, and managing proposals for external funding opportunities.
  • Essential Responsibilities Include :

  • Oversight of training clinic operations
  • Establishment of community partnerships and outreach initiatives
  • Program development to enhance training clinic offerings
  • Grant writing
  • Supervision of master's level practicum students
  • Serve as faculty advisor to assigned students
  • Maintain a strong professional counseling identity
  • Other duties as assigned.
