The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department performs vital patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will coordinate and deliver high-quality care in line with established protocols and physician orders, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure the best patient outcomes while nurturing a compassionate care environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Deliver patient-centered care, aligning with organizational policies and the nursing process.Conduct thorough patient assessments and accurately document findings, communicating any changes to the care team.Provide age-appropriate care rooted in knowledge of human development.Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects, ensuring documentation follows best practices.Assist physicians during procedures, within the boundaries of your competency.Work with the healthcare team to craft and assess individualized care plans based on patient needs.Act swiftly in medical emergencies, engaging in life-saving interventions like CPR.Advocate for patient rights and needs, ensuring their voices are valued in care discussions.Educate patients and families on medical conditions, care plans, and discharge processes.Maintain stringent infection control protocols to curb healthcare-associated infections.Operate necessary medical equipment to ensure safety and care quality.Uphold patient safety by following National Patient Safety Goals and maintaining a clean environment.Involve in performance audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to standards and regulations.Utilize sound decision-making in planning and delivering patient care.Document care and education comprehensively and promptly in medical records.Engage in professional development for ongoing skill enhancement and regulatory compliance.Participate in initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and care delivery processes.Emergency Services RN Specific Duties :
Conduct rapid assessments and triage to prioritize patient care effectively.Perform emergency procedures, including intubation and wound care.Stabilize patients with urgent interventions, including medication administration and IV initiation.You will also undertake any other assigned duties and ensure compliance with all organizational policies.
Qualifications :
0-2 years of experience in clinical nursing or student rotations in an acute care setting.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Strong understanding of the nursing process and clinical practices.Exceptional assessment and communication skills.Proficient in medication administration and patient monitoring.Excellent interpersonal skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration.Organized and detail-oriented, particularly in documentation.Understanding of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement efforts.Licenses and Certifications :
