GRW Engineers has a career opportunity available for an experienced Accounting Bookkeeping / Payroll Specialist in our Lexington, KY headquarter office.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Process bi-weekly multi-state payroll including timesheet reviews and audits, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Produces and maintains accurate and timely general ledger payroll entries, file uploads and deposits.
  • Processes general accounts payable including expense allocation and employee expense reimbursement.
  • Works directly with CFO to complete month end closing tasks, payroll tax filing requirements and reports and annual financial and overhead audits.
  • Process client invoices, cash receipts and bank deposits.
  • Monthly bank account reconciliations.
  • Set up and maintain client and project accounts in accounting software.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.

Skills and Abilities :

  • Degree in accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience applying a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of accounting.
  • Must have experience processing payroll.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills to effectively write reports and business correspondence, and present information and respond to questions from managers and clients.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision preferred but not required.
  • High level of organizational skills, time management, multitasking skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office to perform calculations and analyze data with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Desire, motivation, and ability to exceed the firm's and clients' expectations.
  • Dedication and willingness to continue professional growth.
