POSITION OVERVIEW :
The Certified Nurse Assistant is a member of the Medical Team who is responsible for performing assignments as delegated by the Medical Supervisor NP, in conjunction with the Directors.
Their main responsibility will include distribution and documentation of all medications scheduled during the shift in compliance with facility policy / procedure.
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Ensure high quality customer service daily including, conducting client meetings on time, and coordinating client medical services.
- Documents all medication, meticulously organizes inventory of client medication for storage in appropriate bins .
- Serve clients individually to avoid error and maintain confidentiality.
- Monitors medication, observes the medication a client is taking to be documented for MAR.
- Properly disposes of medication as needed according to facility protocol (i.e., client discharge or transfer; expired medication, etc.).
- Scan and fax prescriptions to pharmacy and calls to request refills.
- Schedules and follows-up on all appointment for clients’ physical and PPD.
- Records and weighs measurements, completes vital signs, and files information accordingly (i.e., blood pressure, temperature, pulse, heart rate, etc.).
- Compiles and updates spreadsheets documenting client medication compliance.
- Maintains, files and updates client records.
- Updates clients medication bags as needed.
- Updates MAR sheets on a monthly basis.
Additional Responsibilities :
- Ensures quality customer service to every client.
- Holds each client’s information in the highest confidence.
- Ensures compliance with behaviors outlined by ANH’s Standards & Code of Conduct.
- Utilizes time management skills to prioritize tasks and ensure completion of work in a reasonable timeframe.
- Performs job duties with quality.
- Adheres to dress code policy.
- Models appropriate behaviors for clients.
- Acts as a resource to colleagues.
- Maintains open lines of communication with all departments and staff.
- Adheres to work schedule as issued and avoid unscheduled absences.
REQUIREMENTS :
- High School Diploma / GED, required
- Associates Degree in related field, preferred
- Current New York State Certification as a Nursing Assistant
- Bilingual (English / Spanish), preferred
- CPR / First Aid
- Overdose & Prevention Rescue training
- Mental Health First Aid
- Knowledge of internet and email services
