Senior Regulatory Reporting Accountant
Description
The Senior Regulatory Reporting Accountant is responsible for the preparation of all regulatory reports and submissions to the regulatory agencies.
This would include the weekly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements. This position monitors and reviews specific financial activity and regulatory guidance in order to prepare the required regulatory reports.
This position conducts research and analysis to provide management with a detailed analysis of material changes in the Bank's reported balances.
Additionally, the Senior Regulatory Reporting Accountant would require a good working relationship with the Bank's regulatory agencies contacts.
Essential Functions
- Preparation and submission of weekly and quarterly Federal Reserve reports such as FR 2900, FR Y6, FR Y8, FR Y10, FR Y9C, FR Y9LP and Summary of Deposits
- Preparation and submission of quarterly FDIC report, Call Report
- Provide clean, accurate and well-organized supporting documentation of numbers included in regulatory submissions
- Provide detailed analysis of quarter over quarter variances for management review
- Establish relationships across multiple lines of business to identify reporting requirement needs to ensure complete and timely reporting submissions
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustment to ensure the Bank is in compliance with all relevant rules and regulations
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and automation
- Respond to regulatory agencies and internal audit on inquiries related to regulatory reporting
- Other regulatory related duties / functions as assigned by management
- Assist in month-end journal entries and other closing procedures
- Reconcile various general ledgers
- Assist the Accounting department in other various duties as needed
- Excellent attention to detail, high level of accuracy and good analytical skills
- Cross train and provide backup on various SEC reporting functions
Additional Essential Functions
- Ensure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal / State regulations
- Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
- Work as part of a team
- Work with on-site equipment
Additional Responsibilities
Complete other duties and special projects as requested by management
Safety and Health for those without supervisory duties
- Abide by the rules of the safety and loss prevention program
- Perform work tasks in a safe manner
- Report any and all injuries to supervisor

Education
Bachelor's Degree Accounting or related degree
Work Experience
6 - 8 years Regulatory reporting experience within a financial institution And
6 - 8 years Accounting and regulatory reporting related work experience And
6 - 8 years Accounting experience

For candidates in Buffalo, NY, The pay range for this position is generally $86,000 - $141,000 annually. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the successful candidate's experience, skills, and knowledge.
