Position Overview
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Operations plays a leadership role in ensuring operational excellence within the Corporate Services department. The AVP is responsible for developing and maintaining operational policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performance metrics. This role leads process improvement initiatives and supports the implementation of new operational systems and software, working cross functionally to ensure alignment with departmental strategic goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create, review, and maintain operational policies to ensure compliance with regulations and alignment with organizational operations.
- Develop, implement, and update comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to standardize processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Partner with managers with tracking and analyzing operational metrics to assess organizational performance and help inform strategic department decisions.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve employee satisfaction.
- Support the implementation and integration of new software systems and operational technologies, assist with training, and post implementation optimization.
- Collaborate with Corporate Services department managers, and internal stakeholders to align operational activities with department and company growth objectives.
- Ensure operations adhere to industry regulations and internal controls, proactively identifying and mitigating operational risks.
- Maintain the department's intranet landing page, ensuring content is accurate, current, and easily accessible to enhance internal communication and resource access.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Public Administration or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.3+ years of experience in operations, administration, or project managementDemonstrated written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain SOPs, policies, and operational documentation.Analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to inform decision-making.Proven project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage timelines, and deliver results.Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.New York City residence is required within 180 days of hire.Preferred Qualifications :
Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean).Experience supporting implementation of enterprise-level software systems.Valid New York State Driver's License.Salary Range :
$95,000 - $98,000 USD
