Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Engineering with a background in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems.

The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in an engineering firm and demonstrate a proven ability to lead, grow, and develop a high-performing team.

This position is crucial for driving the strategic direction, innovation, and operational excellence of our engineering department.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Management :

  • Oversee the engineering department, ensuring the growth and development of team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team.
  • Set clear goals and objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback.

Project Oversight :

  • Lead and manage large-scale engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical oversight and support for MEP systems design and implementation.
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.

Strategic Planning :

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the company’s engineering capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation within the department.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by participating in client meetings and presentations.

Technical Expertise :

  • Serve as the technical expert for MEP systems, providing guidance and support to the team.
  • Stay current with industry trends, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure all engineering work complies with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with MEP systems in commercial and industrial projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading large projects.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to drive innovation within the engineering department.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Job Specifications

  • A minimum of seven years of experience in an engineering firm, with significant MEP systems expertise.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, overseeing teams and managing large projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
