JOB SUMMARY :

Gain a technical foundation, acquire leadership skills, project management experience, and cross-functional process knowledge.

The Software Engineer Internship will assist with the development, auditing, and documentation of key processes and workflows

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and document flight simulator software
  • Work closely with engineers of varying disciplines to meet project requirements
  • Participate in engineering design reviews
  • Perform hardware / software integration & testing on flight simulator training devices
  • Provide engineering staff with recommendations for software / hardware enhancements
  • Work on projects that have a measurable impact on our business
  • Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application

Qualifications

EDUCATION :

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and diplomatic demeanor
  • Strong sense of accountability and integrity
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deal with change and work in a dynamic environment
  • Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
  • Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.
  • Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
