Responsibilities :

The Engineer I Mechanical performs functions that lead to the improvement of current products, and the development of new products and components.

This individual has basic knowledge of commonly-used engineering concepts, practices, and procedures. This role reports to the Engineering Director and will receive guidance from senior level engineers.

Specific Job Function :

  • Design water treatment products and the related components under the supervision of senior level engineers
  • Assist in the analysis of design problems to determine the root cause, and then implement corrective actions
  • Assist in the development of product, component and process specifications with the guidance of senior level engineers
  • Develop a basic understanding of related regulatory standards and how the requirements impact design
  • Design and fabricate test fixtures for new product validation and or production
  • Write and carry out basic test procedures for evaluating the integrity of a product
  • Interface with other departments to bring basic products or changes into production
  • Develop and maintain bills-of-materials

Requirements :

  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering
  • 1+ years of experience with 3-D modeling and 2-D drawing creation using Solidworks, ProE or similar software.
  • Able to perform basic mechanical design hand calculations including : flow rates, pressure, oring squeeze, etc.
  • Basic understanding of design practices for common production / fabrication processes including : plastic injection molding, casting, machining, sheet metal, etc.
  • Basic understanding of the function of mechanical and electromechanical components including : pumps, valves, o-rings / seals, solenoids, motors, etc.
