Advanced Practice Provider (NP / PA) - Radiation Oncology GYN / GU

Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing health care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care or supervisory agreement with an attending physician member of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Collaborates with a physician(s) and other clinicians in providing a full scope of patient care. The focus is on preventive health or the management of acute and / or stable chronic conditions. Performs medical services that have been specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing body and the certifying organization through which they hold licensure.

The APP provides health care services to patients working in collaboration with a licensed physician member of the medical staff. Healthcare services provided include care during acute and chronic phases of illness, education, and counseling of individuals and families, health promotion and prevention, and referral to other healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• See patients with gynecologic and genitourinary cancers for delivery of radiation therapy as part of the care team.
• Provide continuity of care between service lines as well as medical management of patients between visits through telephone encounters, electronic health records (MyCharts), and add-on visits.
• Collaborate with MD team; participate in an independent day of APP visits as scheduled.
• Support the team by preparing for the next week of patient visits.

Additional Information

This team sees patients with gynecological and genitourinary cancers for delivery of radiation therapy. The APP on this team sees patients with the MD team four days a week; one of those days is an independent day of APP visits. APP is responsible for continuity of care between service lines as well as medical management of patients between visits through telephone encounters, MyChart, and add-on visits.

The APPs on this team have a day set aside to prep for the next week of patient visits.
