Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes, following recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared to the restaurant's standards for taste, presentation, and portion size.
  • Supervise and support kitchen staff, including line cooks and prep cooks, ensuring they follow recipes and standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to new and existing kitchen staff.
  • Assist in scheduling kitchen staff and managing shift operations to ensure efficiency.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on all dishes and ingredients to ensure consistency and adherence to standards.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to ensure the availability of fresh ingredients.
  • Help manage food costs by minimizing waste and ensuring proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting regular stock checks.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working order and report any maintenance needs.
  • Implement and enforce food safety and sanitation practices in compliance with local health regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe working environment for all kitchen staff.
  • Participate in kitchen meetings and provide updates on kitchen operations and staff performance.

Qualifications :

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong culinary skills with a good understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Creative and innovative approach to food preparation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
