Responsibilities :
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes, following recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Ensure all food items are prepared to the restaurant's standards for taste, presentation, and portion size.
- Supervise and support kitchen staff, including line cooks and prep cooks, ensuring they follow recipes and standards.
- Provide training and guidance to new and existing kitchen staff.
- Assist in scheduling kitchen staff and managing shift operations to ensure efficiency.
- Conduct regular quality checks on all dishes and ingredients to ensure consistency and adherence to standards.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to ensure the availability of fresh ingredients.
- Help manage food costs by minimizing waste and ensuring proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting regular stock checks.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working order and report any maintenance needs.
- Implement and enforce food safety and sanitation practices in compliance with local health regulations.
- Assist in maintaining a safe working environment for all kitchen staff.
- Participate in kitchen meetings and provide updates on kitchen operations and staff performance.
Qualifications :
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.
- Strong culinary skills with a good understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Creative and innovative approach to food preparation.
