Health Systems Cooperative Laundries
We are currently hiring for a FULL TIME Laundry Hospital Distribution to join our team!
SCHEDULE :
Hennepin County Medical Center 6AM-2 : 30PM- Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
Children's Hospital- MPLS 5AM-1 : 30PM, Saturday and Sunday
MONDAY AND TUESDAY OFF
JOB DESCRIPTION :
- Comfortable handling soiled linen in a hospital setting.
- Be able to work independently and communicate with nursing personnel.
- Must have excellent verbal communication skills.
- Count linens and enter on hand inventory using tablets.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Performed the following physical tasks with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to follow an established schedule.
- Ability to bend into laundry carts and lift soil and clean linens.
- Ability to push and pull full carts of linen (soil and clean) weighing up to 500lbs.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must have reliable transportation.

KNOWEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Basic knowledge of safety standards.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with an attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to work and communicate in a richly diverse environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.
- Perform repetitive motions throughout the shift such as push, pull, and lift.
- Energetic, self-starter.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- Basic ability to speak and understand English.
- Attendance is an essential function of the job.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand / walk most of the day and also required to repeat motions to sit;
- use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl;
talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must constantly push and pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Fast-paced production environment - non-climate-controlled environment. Union environment with diverse workforce with multiple languages.
Seven days per week operation - weekends required - nights may be required.
