We are seeking a Project Engineer I to join our team!

The ideal candidate will be ultimately responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing construction materials testing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope, and leading of field technicians to achieve this.

The Project Engineer I will review project relative documents and construction activities to assure compliance with project specifications.

Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in the public works, transportation, commercial & residential building mining and / or industrial sectors.

They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

• Follow safety rules and standards for all projects.
• Oversee large scale grading operations and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Perform various special inspections during construction i.e., reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, post-installed anchors, and Post-Tensioned foundations.
• Prepare daily field reports documenting site construction activities.
• Communicate directly with clients and potential clients regarding project needs.
• Manage Personal field equipment.
• Adhere to Alta Southwest company policies.
• Ability to perform in house training.
• Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be needed of available.
• Review proposals and reports for small and large projects of varying complexity.
• Perform quality control review of proposals written by others.
• Schedule and review laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports.
• Serve as a technical adviser for Field Technicans.

Education / Formal Training :

• We are looking for a recent graduates.
• All field level certifications (Nuclear Safety, ACI, and ATTI field) or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Experience writing daily field reports documenting site activities for review.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT :

• Continually required to stand. 8-9 hours daily
• Continually required to walk. 8-9 hours daily
• Frequently required to sit. 2-3 hours daily
• Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity. 8-9 hours daily
• Continually required to talk or hear over environmental and equipment noise. 8-9 hours daily
• Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and / or use a keyboard. 8-9 hours daily
• Frequently required to lift / push / carry items no less than 50 pounds.
• Frequently work in elevated surfaces, environmental conditions such as rain, wind, snow, and extreme heat.
