QUALIFICATIONS

• Meets the Federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) qualifications including an associate’s degree or 48 hours of college credit or have passed the ParaProfessional Praxis test
• Meets the health and physical qualifications

REPORTS TO Principal

JOB GOAL To provide assistance to teachers and help students become proficient in reading and / or mathematics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provides small group and / or individual instruction in reading and / or mathematics in grades K-8
• Writes lesson plans for small group reading instruction
• Delivers lesson plans according to specified techniques
• Administers screening and survey-level assessments under the guidance of the Response to Intervention Facilitator
• Administers running records under the guidance of the Instructional Facilitator
• Keeps accurate records of student work, attendance, and intervention
• Works with Response to Intervention Facilitator to monitor student progress
• Manages the behavior of a small group of students
• Uses personal computers and / or tablets and software applications for determining and monitoring student progress
• Attends training as needed
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the Principal
