About The Position

Weekly Pay Range - $1442 To $1602 Job Title : Radiologic Technologist Weekend Job Specialty : Radiology General Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night;

Friday & Saturday, 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM Guaranteed Hours : 24 hours per week Experience : Minimum years not specified License : IEMA Radiography License Illinois Certifications : - BLS (American Heart Association) - Radiography (R)(ARRT) Must-Have : - Positive attitude - Ability to perform multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow - Skills in various technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative Job Description : Perform diagnostic general radiological procedures using imaging equipment to aid in diagnosis of diseases and injuries.

• Acquire and process patient exams according to guidelines and department protocols.- Review cases with the radiologist when necessary.
• Review labs and patient history to ensure accurate exams.- Administer IV contrast and oral / rectal contrast when needed, recognizing and responding to adverse or allergic reactions.
• Administer IV contrast material through existing IV lines or venipuncture.- Screen patients for potential pregnancy and perform testing if needed.
• Ensure radiology orders are complete and accurate.- Review patient history and clinical data for medical necessity, obtaining additional information if needed.
• Demonstrate quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment.- Review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
• Transfer and verify image data in PACS and provide necessary medical history and information for Radiologist interpretation.
• Use web servers and email systems to send exams for preliminary readings after hours.- Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, including supply inventories and orderliness.
• Recognize equipment malfunctions and report service needs promptly.- Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety and report any safety events immediately.
• Assist in the instruction of students and new staff as necessary.- Perform duties of Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator when needed.
• Meet productivity levels as established by department benchmarking.- Assist other areas during downtimes to maintain productivity.
• Perform duties of other modalities within the department if licensed or certified for those roles.- Comply with other job descriptions of cross-trained modalities performed within the department.
