Where Dreams and Opportunities Align! Join our team as a Lead Direct Support Professional at our Golden Hills Children's Crisis Home in Golden Valley, MN.
Schedule : 7 days on 7 days off with availability between 6am-10pm during these days (the schedule will be made a week in advance).
During the 7day period you will also need to be on call for the program. While this position has a primary program, this position will also be cross trained at 5-6 other programs.
Wage : $24.50 per hour weekday rate (6am Monday- 3pm Friday), $28.50 per hour weekend rate (3pm Friday-6a Monday) Duties : The lead will be responsible for typically 20 hours direct care and typically 20 hours of administrative work, however that is subject to change based on the needs of the program.
Leads will be responsible for medical appointments, training of new staff, emergency client issues, and on call coverage for your team of houses.

The Lead DSP will assist the manager with appointments, paperwork, and other administrative duties as assigned. Leads will work approximately 20 hours a week of direct care and 20 hours a week of administrative work, however the direct care hours may increase based on the needs of the program.
Our ideal candidate must have experience working with intellectual disabilities, experience with person centered programming, and significant experience working with verbal and physical aggression. Responsibilities
- Work on tailored outcomes with each person in the home. Outcomes may include : budgeting, behavioral management, community exploration, meal planning, organizational skills, coping skills, and / or physical fitness.
- Assist with paperwork and attending doctor appointments
- Be an active participant with individuals served when working on outcomes and out in the community.
- Assist with personal cares as needed per person served
- Provide guidance and instructional teaching to persons while building life skills.
- Provide cleaning, cooking and medication administration to the people living at the home
- Provide supervision and transportation in the community on activities and appointments. Typically, a company vehicle is available, but times may require use of own personal vehicle
Requirements
- To be at least 21 years of age for the program
- Have a vehicle with current car insurance
- Have an acceptable driving record as determined by Meridian Services policy.
- Successful clearance from a DHS background Study
- Ability to complete personal cares
- Experience working with intellectual disabilities
- Experience working with person centered programming
- Experience with verbal aggressions and physical aggressions required
