Senior Process Engineer

Nouryon’s Houston, (Almeda) TX location is looking for top candidates to fill the key role of Senior Process Engineer. This position is essential to :
The coordination and completion of major process improvements and capital projects within the site’s units. The employee should have strong working knowledge of and experience with batch based chemical processes in a PSM regulated environment.
Key objectives include process analysis, process optimization, project conception, project development, project management, and process startup.
In your future role as a Senior Process Engineer, you will :
- Process optimization of assigned units.
- Manage all aspects of project work including developing and maintaining documentation.
- Lead process design, commissioning and startup of assigned projects and as required.
- As the engineering lead for projects, collaborate with production and maintenance departments on process design, equipment specification, project planning, project organization, and supervision during shutdowns.
- Perform MOC, PSSR, and hazard studies as required.
- Participates in creating and revising process safety information including but not limited equipment standards, piping standards, construction standards, project procedures, process drawings, and equipment drawings.
- Maintains and develops professional competencies consistent with Nouryon and industry standards.
- Participates in training other employees including engineers, operators, and maintenance people on equipment or process changes.
- Performs special process, quality or maintenance studies as requested.
- Hold employees accountable to the standards of the plant.
- Other assignments or duties as directed by manager.
Health, Safety, Security and Environment Specific Responsibilities :
- Understand and help implement the Houston site HSES policies and objectives.
- Support and participate in HSES committees and improvement activities.
- Be aware and work to mitigate health, safety, environmental risks in area of responsibility.
- Understand and implement Environmental Compliance Plan and Waste Management Plan in area of responsibility.
- Participate in the sites Pollution Prevention Program.
- Complete training and become a hazard study leader for the site.
- Participate in the implementation of the Houston sites Quality Policy, and Quality Improvement Process.
- Participate in quality assurance for all assigned projects and process improvements.
- Participate in the Houston site’s document control, internal quality audits, corrective actions, and record keeping processes as required.
- Assist in training others on the site’s quality procedures and requirements.

- 10+ years project / process experience in a chemical environment.
