We provide in-person services in the Greater Dallas-Fort Worth area and serve all of Texas with our robust telehealth care.
The ideal candidate for this position has a heart for working with underserved communities, providing these critical services to children and families from diverse backgrounds impacted by trauma.
About the Program : EmpathyHQ has launched a program titled "Alliance Afterschool" which provides individual and group therapy FREE OF CHARGE to children between 0 - 17 years old or still enrolled in high school.
This program is grant-funded through December 2024, specifically for children residing in Tarrant County. EmpathyHQ will seek to credential the fully licensed Therapist on various panels for Commercial Insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare to serve a diverse population of Clients.
While credentialing is in process, the Therapist will have a FULL CASELOAD of grant-funded Clients who need therapy services.
About the Position : REQUIREMENTS OF THIS PROGRAM : Due to the sensitive nature of the program and the youth being served, there would be a 1 Year commitment of employment with EmpathyHQ with a restriction to not seek outside employment providing direct outpatient therapy services.
However, there is significant flexibility in the hours scheduled; this is negotiable. The Therapist would have the following requirements and job duties if hired to serve youth in this program : Provide weekly individual therapy services, which may include : Completing a comprehensive psychosocial assessment, Assessing the mental and behavioral health status of referred Clients and ensuring that clinical assessments are up to date based on best practice, grant requirements, and agency policies, Identifying patients with urgent mental health conditions (e.
g., suicidal, homicidal, psychotic, etc.) and making appropriate referrals to higher levels of care (Emergency, Inpatient, PHP / IOP) as needed, Formulating differential diagnoses of mild to moderate mental health conditions or substance abuse, Using evidenced-based practices and professional counseling standards to provide ongoing psychotherapy / behavioral health counseling with measurable outcomes and goals, Completing discharge planning / discussion from the start of services while monitoring the overall number of sessions (as only 12 individual sessions are covered through grant funding).
negotiable) Provide group therapy services (with the support of at least one (1) additional group leader present) on a weekly basis which may include : Coordinating and collaborating with other community agencies, staff members, interns, or volunteers within EmpathyHQ and outside collaborative agencies who may be assisting with the implementation of the group, Ensuring consent forms and assessments are completed in full to participate, Communicating with parents through oral or written means regarding the topics completed in groups as a method of increasing participation, Identifying clients who are not appropriate for the group OR who are experiencing urgent mental health conditions (e.
g., suicidal, homicidal, psychotic, etc.) and need appropriate referrals to higher levels of care (Emergency, Inpatient, PHP / IOP), Using evidenced-based practices and professional counseling standards to provide ongoing psychotherapy / behavioral health counseling with measurable outcomes and goals, Completing discharge planning / discussion from the start of services while monitoring the overall number of sessions (as only 12 group sessions are covered through grant funding).
Complete documentation of all therapeutic services per the requirements of EmpathyHQ and document outcomes for grant funding, Complete outreach to local schools, agencies, community leaders, and other stakeholders about the program and to increase participation, Participate in weekly Therapy Department meetings and quarterly Agency Meetings.
Must be willing to complete sessions in person at various sites in Tarrant County (generally only one site per day, though there may be a different site each day of the week).
NO Evenings or weekends are required for this position, though some afternoon flexibility IS preferred to meet caseload requirements.
