Staff Software Engineer, Motion Planning Systems

We’re searching for a Software Engineer to join Aurora’s Motion Planning Systems group. The Motion Planning Systems group is responsible for accelerating development & debugging workflows for the core of the planner.

In this role, you will

• Enhance core planner components to improve architecture, robustness and latency.
• Create tooling to speed up software development iteration.
• Be a steward of not just good coding practices, but also good systems architecture for the whole of the motion planner.
• Collaborate closely with core planner engineers.

Required Qualifications

• Strong C++ experience
• BS software engineering, mathematics or physics or similar
• 10+ years of industry experience in motion planning

Desirable Qualifications

• Basic Python
• Robotics experience
• ML experience

The base salary range for this position is $189K - $302K per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions.

These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
