Position Title : Custodian

Position Summary / General Description :
A Custodian maintains a clean environment for all LDC casinos and related facilities.
Expectations :

- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude toward customers and co-workers.
- Consistently report to work on time prepared to perform duties of position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Perform custodial duties such as : Vacuuming; mopping; scrubbing; panning / sweeping; disposing of trash / change trash bags as needed;
cleaning ash trays; cleaning restrooms (e.g., clean toilets / urinals, countertops, and fill dispensers); cleaning table games (e.
g., wipe tables and remove trash); cleaning slot machines and surrounding areas (i.e. clean gaming machines, clean between machines, chairs);
cleaning windows, mirrors, walls, doors, carpet and other furnishings.
- Practice safety standards at all times keeping the property safe for guests and co-workers. Report any injuries or unsafe conditions to the person-in-charge immediately.
- Maintain knowledge of cleaning solutions; preventative maintenance of equipment, and cleaning of equipment. Report equipment repair requirements to supervisor.
- Be a team player (e.g., work toward team goals and foster a collaborative and positive work environment; put the team first;
- assist coworkers; treat all coworkers with kindness, courtesy and respect; never engage in negativity; maintain openness to coaching, learning and improving;

At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.
g., coworkers, clients and vendors).
- Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within areas of responsibility. Be aware of cleaning chemicals and how to respond to unexpected exposure of the product to eyes or open body services.
- Comply with custodial department standard operating procedures.
- Serve as a mentor to custodial and heavy duty cleaners, and use the buddy system during training.
- Participate in meetings and workshops to support custodial operations.
- Build relationships and loyalty with guests through sincere and meaningful interactions (e.g., learn guests’ names and preferences;
connect with them individually and professionally; smile; make eye contact and verbally greet guests).
- Develop a thorough knowledge of services, room locations, amenities, surroundings, providing accurate directions, and information for guest inquiries about promotions and special events.
- Work under pressure; maintain regular and punctual attendance including working odd and unusual hours, weekends and holidays.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Relevant work experience preferred.
Licensing & Certification :
None.
Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery :
Use a carpet extractor, small area extractor, carpet and spotter extractor, wet / dry vacuum and chariot vacuum.
Essential Physical Requirements :
- Requires the ability to balance / climb, bend over, crawl, crouch / stoop, hear, kneel, reach overhead, sit, stand, talk, turn / twist and repetitively use hands 51-100% of the time.
- Requires the ability to push / pull, carry, lift and slide / transfer 1-25 lbs. 51-100% of the time.
- Requires the ability to push / pull, lift and slide transfer 25-50+ lbs. 1-24% of the time.
Essential Mental Demands :
- Requires making decisions 25-50% of the time.
- Requires problem solving, organizing, planning, interpreting data, reading and writing 1-24% of the time.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
None.
Work Environment (inside / outside) :
The job is performed indoors with exposure to loud noises and fumes.
Other Requirements :
- Obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Pueblo of Laguna’s Gaming Control Board.
- Must pass a pre-employment alcohol / drug screening.
