Skilled Nursing Medication Aide
The Skilled Nursing Medication Aide administers prescribed medications to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse (LPN) / (LVN) and maintains related medical records.
Responsibilities include presenting medication to patients, observing ingestion or administering medication using specified procedures, taking vital signs or observing patient to detect response to medication, restocking medication inventories, and providing direct patient care. Assures resident safety by identifying safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective action as appropriate.
Requirements include Medication Aide licensure / certification obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required, and a high school diploma or GED preferred.
